"Down-the-hole" Hammer - Ultimate versatility in one compact unit.

The Kanga 8 Series Loader with Rammer Extendable Rock Drill Mast, or “Drillmast” will knock out other machines when it comes to transportability!

  • 1.05m wide and 2.72m long.

  • Weight less than 1500kg.

  • Drill a 50 – 70mm diameter.

  • “Down hole hammer” drills down to 50m or more (requires auxiliary air supply approx 5m3 (200CFM) at 10 bar (150PSI).

The Kanga 8 Series with Drillmast is a flexible and easy to transport unit compared to high capital cost, heavy, one- use-only machinery.

The Rammer Drill Mast has been developed for those who need a compact, maneuverable Drill Rig and Kanga have developed this attachment to be used in many ways.

It can be fitted with conventional augers for normal drilling in soil and if the going gets hard can be changed out to run a “Down the Hole Hammer”. When fitted with continuous flighted augers it can be used for soil sampling or drilling bores. The mast has 1.8m of telescopic travel and can be adjusted hydraulically to drill vertical or on an angle.

There are a number of satisfied Kanga owners using this attachment with a 55mm diameter Down the Hole Hammer and digging to a depth of 20m through solid rock. One particular Kanga owner is using a 90mm diameter Down the Hole Hammer to a depth of 50m with great success.

Self-levelling backhoe has advanced engineering

Featuring a patented self-levelling and height adjustable, trailing quick-hitch system, the Kanga Backhoe has undergone advanced engineering to ensure the highest possible control over uneven terrain.

As part of the Kanga Loaders range of multi-task compact skid steer loaders, this mini-loader is capable of digging as deep as two metres.

With an unobstructed 360° view, the operator is at leisure to view the job site without the leaving the platform and in turn is ensured of operating the unit in a highly safe environment.

Multiple bucket widths make the Kanga Backhoe suitable for applications as diverse as the transplantation of mature trees, drainage and sewerage excavation, grave digging, and installing and inspecting underground pipes and cables.

With a weight of 398kg, a dig depth 2004mm, 335kg slew force, 150mm-600mm bucket widths, 190kg lift capacity, 2669mm bucket reach, 4506mm slew width, 800kg break-out force, Kanga Backhoes are easily controlled with a standard backhoe twin joystick.

Allowing the backhoe to be travelled over uneven terrain and loaded onto a trailer without the loader wheels ever losing contact with the ground, the self-levelling and hight adjustable quick hitch system can also be locked into place by lowering the front bucket, giving unprecedented stable and secure digging.

Kanga Backhoes are Australian designed and made. Universal attachments, even from other manufacturers, can be fitted to models in the Kanga 5, 6, 7and 8 Series.

New attachments are constantly being designed and added to the range which can be seen on the Kanga website,

Remote control skid steer loader recognised by industry award

Longstanding Australian company Kanga Loaders has been recognised by a high-ranking industry award for one of its flagship developments, the D800R Remote Control Skid Steer Loader. This new technology received a ‘highly commended’ accreditation at the recent Manufacturers’ Monthly Endeavour 2007 Awards in the category of "Innovative Product of the Year – Industrial".

General Manager of Sales and Marketing for Kanga Loaders, Mr Lars Ottosson, says the company is not only proud to have received such an award, is a fitting tribute to the organisation’s drive and dedication to design and manufacture such equipment so it ranks among the world's best – especially in relation to OH&S in the workplace.

"For several years now, Kanga has disciplined itself to manufacture all products with a high level of accuracy and quality through what we our own level of ‘advanced engineering’," said Mr Ottosson.

"To have the D800R publicly recognised as one of the most innovative industrial products of the last 12 months is an honour to the company as well as a third-party certification that this remote-control technology is world-class.

“With more stringent OH&S rules continuing to emerge at a time when there is a shortage of manual labour, this remote control skid steer loader fits in perfectly as a viable solution, especially in top end industries such as mining and extractive, construction and public works.

"And the fact the Kanga manufactures all its technologies to such high levels of engineering accuracy says loud and clear to all Australian industries that our products are among the very best in it which they can invest.

“Under the Jaden Kanga Group, we are fast becoming recognised as Australia’s leading designer, producer and supplier of Mini Skid Steer Loaders to the world.

“But being based domestically also means that spare parts supply lines and technical support is virtually instant compared to the responses by some of our competitors which are based overseas.

“Having produced the world’s first ever mini skid steer loader more than 20 years ago, the company has been responsible for changing the face of workplaces around the world with superior design, innovation and quality".

“Our mission statement alone says that through innovation, research and development and the highest quality standards, we can offer industrial markets superior equipment to complete required tasks in an efficient, safe and timely manner.”

Even in these early stages, there are two D800R remote control units in active operation in Australia, with more in the pipeline. One user, Kiln Services WA, has several contracts working under and around live machinery in cement and mining plants at Munster, Kalgoorlie and Kwinana in W.A. Another unit is in operation at a Whyalla S.A. steel plant.

Safety, ergonomics, productivity – the modern dredger

Modern dredging technology is not just about mining in water; it is about maximising overall productivity while ensuring high levels of OH&S and ergonomics for all operators and maintenance staff.

The Jaden Kanga Group was called upon recently to design and build a dredger to do exactly this for one longstanding Australian mining company that had been operating with fairly outdated technology.

Immediate efficiencies gained were better stability in the water, much higher efficiency in production and a very ergonomic environment for all employees involved.

The Jaden Kanga Group's Chief Engineer on the project, Mr Grant Barrett, says there were several key technologies which attracted the client to Jaden-Kanga for a solution.

"One of the most significant features we implemented was our patented Jaden S120 ‘cutter disk’ that pulls the dredge into the cut,” said Mr Barrett.

“Others tend to manufacture using a ‘rosebud’ cutter which goes over the top rather than pulling it in during the mining process, hence lowering the return for energy invested.

“We also installed a Five Wire winch system as opposed to a spud dredge which has limited manoeuvrability and is a lot less stable in the water.”

A multitude of advanced engineering specifications were put in place to meet the demanding workload that will be placed on this vehicle, including:

  • Electronic Engine CAT 3412E that shows fuel usage, engine load and all diagnostic data.
  • On-board 14 Kva Generator (Kubota) powering air conditioning, a computer system, density/flow readouts and a GPS.
  • Built to USL Code and under Victorian and Queensland Survey.
  • A water jet monitor.
  • Full fire protection system.
  • 10,000 litre diesel tank.
  • Sound proof operators cabin.

The vessel is a 26-metre metre cutter suction dredge powered by an eight hundred horsepower power plant and is engineered to supply five hundred tons of material per hour.

However, it has proved an enormous success delivering substantially more than that specification. This dredge is a replacement for the old unit used at the facility and the owners are more than pleased with the performance of the new vessel.

The client has gained not just increased production, but higher levels of operator comfort with air conditioning and controls that handle easily. The dredger it replaced was an ageing unit and a lot smaller.

The previous dredger genuinely faced the prospect of a ‘face cave in’ – a potentially common incident in this industry which can cause dredgers to be knocked around by the resultant wave. But the new vehicle is highly stable in the water, equipped with better protection and far more accessible for maintenance crews.

The Jaden Kanga Group is an innovative company that has many lines of equipment in its arsenal of products. Not the least is its unique dredge design and manufacturing facility at Burleigh Heads in Queensland, Australia.

The Jaden Kanga Group also designs and manufacturers the famous Jaden winches that are used in many industries including marine, electrical and other major styles of industrial use. Jaden dredges and winches have been supplied to teh industry for more than 29 years. The renowned Kanga mini loader product is also a line that is produced at the Burleigh Heads productions facility.

Customised loader comes with complete business package

Earthmoving and loading machinery specialist Kanga Loaders has developed a custom-built turnkey solution for individuals and companies involved in digging, drilling, scooping, loading and lifting. ‘Business-on-a-Trailer’ is based on the company’s longstanding high-quality skid steered loader technology.

But beyond the product itself, Kanga’s turnkey deal also provides the necessary business planning, budgeting for profit, market analysis, technical consultation and planning, optimising a leasing package and ongoing technical support.

This is a complete business package developed to ensure all clients investing in the technology make the right choices in equipment, plus enter the market with proper planning and ongoing maintenance and partnering.

Uses for the customised machines ranges across industries including horticulture, landscaping, plumbing, landscaping, mining and quarrying, public works, energy and infrastructure and others.

As the inventor of the world’s first ‘stand-on’ skid steer loader, Kanga has designed and built their own trailer to provide a complete solution for portability, convenience and profit potential.

Business-on-a-Trailer is specifically designed to carry Kanga attachments. There are more than 62 attachments – anything from a rock drill with drilling capacity up to 50m through to rear-mounted backhoes.

This very versatile machinery replaces labour to complete jobs on time, without personal injury, while reducing hire costs.

Designed to provide years of reliable, trouble-free service, Kanga deliberately engineered the dimensions of each customised unit to keep it physically smaller than other comparable earthmoving equipment.

This important design aspect allows access to physically tighter areas (general width of a customised unit is less than 1100mm, although models can be as slim as 850mm depending on its intended use).

In developing this new technology, Kanga has upheld its high standards of engineering and safety by including, among other features, self levelling buckets, automatic shutdown of auxiliary hydraulics, and a simplified track system with extra ground clearance.

Every customised Business-on-a-Trailer has excellent speed and very good break-out force.

Additional Loader safety features include a self levelling bucket that ensures the driver never tips the load onto himself/herself, while a 38° ‘roolback’ function ensures the operator never has to drive a full load with the arms raised.

An automatic cut-off of the auxiliary hydraulics occurs as soon as the operator steps off the machine.

A full risk assessment has been made by external bodies on all aspects of this technology from the control system right through to the functions of the fuel tank.

Multi-task compact skid steer loader

Kanga Loaders has releases its 8-Series two-model line-up of dual-speed transmission, multi-task compact skid steer loaders designed and manufactured under the company’s advanced engineering practices.

As the inventor of the first stand-on skid steer loader in the world, Kanga has ensured the 8-Series is engineered with emphasis on safety and ease of operation.

Powered by a 25 HP Kubota 905 diesel engine, the 8-series has more than enough power to accomplish the toughest of tasks and has 30% more lifting capacity and even longer reach than other skid steer loaders on the market.

With a 330kg working load, 2030mm lift height, 1090mm maximum reach and a 900kg break-out force, the Kanga 8-Series is the largest and most powerful in the Kanga range, with both models having stump pulling torque.

‘Finger-tip transmission speed selection’ shifts speeds up and down on the run ensuring the correct level of torque is engaged for varying applications as they arise; handling trenching, digging, post-holing and general cleaning up with ease.

Strictly adhering to government stipulated OHS guidelines, Kanga operates under World’s Best Practises incorporating ‘Hand Arm Vibration’ Standards along with internationally recognised Risk Management studies and procedures, and is successfully exporting, on a global level, to rapidly expanding markets.

At the heart of the Kanga 8-Series’ advanced engineering are high standard features including self-levelling buckets which are limited to rating (wet gravel or sand) and have generous rollback limits which allow easy filling and safe transport without spillage.

Excellent machine balance and Kanga’s correctly sized buckets make it impossible for the operator to capsize the machine - fully loaded or without the bucket - while the safety relief valve prevents unsafe loading of systems.

A perforated operator platform is non-slip and free from hot engine obstruction, while the soft-touch controls and easy-to-understand control panel minimise operator fatigue. Safety is further enhanced with the safety auxiliary cut-out.

These units have no transmission chains or sprockets and are supplied with enclosed hydraulic wheel motors to prevent damage, while being easily accessible.

Diesel power offers enhanced capacity at the right budget, while a heavy-duty Donaldson air cleaner keeps the Kanga 8-Series running in the toughest of conditions.

Additional enhancements include lifetime maintenance-free hydraulic transmission, a quick hitch function that is hydraulically activated from the control panel, a two- speed transmission actuator and a hydraulic fluid sight gauge.
